Description

QFI's Arabic Teacher Training Certification Award provides support to prospective certified teachers of Arabic in primary and/or secondary (K-12) public/state-funded schools. It is designed to help develop an increasing pool of certified teachers of Arabic with a professional teaching background in public/state-funded schools in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. To be eligible for the award, candidates must be accepted to a teacher training certification program leading to certification in a location above. Examples may include but are not limited to PGCE in the UK, PME in Ireland, MAT in the United States or other degrees/programs leading to teacher certification with a focus on Modern World Languages including Arabic.    

Recipients of the Teacher Training Certification Award will receive up to $3,000 USD (or equivalent based on location of degree program).

In addition to receiving the award, successful applicants join a network of new and experienced teachers of Arabic, and they may be invited to attend QFI-supported conferences, trainings, or workshops.

Applications are accepted and awarded on a rolling basis.


Funding and Eligibility 

Awardees may receive a one-time award of up to $3,000 USD (or equivalent based on location of degree program). In the award application, applicants will be asked to provide details on their intended training certification program. If you previously received a QFI grant, please note that you can only submit a new application once previous grant reporting is submitted and approved by QFI.   

To be eligible for the Arabic Teacher Training Certification Award you must:  

  • Be a prospective certified teacher at a primary or secondary (K-12) public/state-funded school; 

  • Be accepted to a teacher training certification program in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, or Europe. 

Applications are not a guarantee of funding.
